Who ultimately has accountability for the supplies in the SSA?

The accountable officer is the individual ultimately responsible for the accountability of supplies within the Supply Support Activity (SSA). This includes ensuring that all supplies are properly recorded, maintained, and managed according to military regulations. The accountable officer's role encompasses oversight of inventory management, ordering, and distribution of supplies to ensure that all items are accounted for and that any discrepancies are addressed promptly. This position is crucial in maintaining operational readiness, as supplies must be accurately logged to ensure that military units have the resources they need for successful operations. The accountable officer often works closely with other roles, such as the Stock Control Manager and other logistical personnel, but the ultimate accountability rests on this individual, making this role pivotal in the chain of supply and logistics within the military framework.
